dream it

Happy Dot Pet Services was created from my experiences of caring for two small kittens, Happy and Dottie.

Both Happy and Dottie were not able to thrive in the shelter environment in which they were taken and without the 24 hour care of their mothers their chance of survival was limited. I provided the best care I could for the kittens and both made it to an adult age, with Happy still living with me and reminding me every day of what I was passionate about. Animal welfare is at the heart of what I do and ensuring the most recent research and techniques are used when caring for animal’s in our lives.

I have had over 20 years’ experience working in Education, during this time I have built up a large body of practical experience within the animal welfare industry. I have worked as an animal attendant, foster carer, volunteer within the animal welfare creating relationships with the most experienced animal people. I have completed a Cat Behaviour Mentorship, Feline Elimination Master Course, Fear Free Professional - Pet Sitter and a Distinction in the Advanced Feline Behaviour Course for Professionals (with ISFM).

I have designed, delivered, and assessed learners using a comprehensive competency-based training program in a shelter environment, working with both cats and dogs (Certificate II in Animal Studies). Working alongside students, staff and volunteers allowed me to understand the steps for providing care and how to train individuals to get the best from each person.

If you are finding it difficult to find someone to provide compassionate and friendly care for your animals, I am more than happy to help. I have strong practical experience assessing relationships between owners and their pets, always solutioning ways to help both feel happy and safe in their home environments. Building an understanding of your pet’s needs and how to accommodate this in a busy life is something I can assist you with.

I own four spoilt cats, one dog, six chickens and have fostered over 150 kittens. I have mentored many kitten and cat carers, as well as helping facilitate many rehoming success stories. I run a rescue for neonatal kittens called Tiny Kits Rescue.

I find this such a rewarding practical aspect of my work, ensuring that the kittens I raise find their perfect homes and both are set up for success. I am obsessed with all things cat, kitten raising, cat behaviour and generally understanding the complexity of cats.
